Introducing Jew of the Week in doodles — cartoons of noteworthy members of the tribe

Last week, I launched a new feature called Jew of the Week - in doodles. Each Friday, I'll highlight a Jew that is doing something noteworthy. They might have great news that week or be deserving of some attention for their contributions to Jewish community through arts, comedy, cooking, education,... and more. I know and learn about so many awesome Jews, and I thought this would be a great way to raise awareness of what they are doing, hear their stories, and inspire the greater community.

I'm hoping going forward to publish a blog post about each person (maybe I'll do brief interviews with everyone?) and reveal them on social media and in a new newsletter on Fridays.

Read on to see the inaugural Jews of the week!

I started last Friday with a "hot Rabbi."

Jew of the Week - Rabbi Rebecca Keren Eisenstadt

I read about Rabbi Eisenstadt (aka My Hot Rabbi on Instagram) in a The Forward newsletter last week and knew I had to feature her. She is a private rabbi helping kids prepare for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. I was inspired by her entrepreneurial story and like that she’s helping people embrace Judaism in an approachable way, which is something I am trying to do, too. And, Reese Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine is making a doc about this Rabbi's dating life. Pretty amazing! Plus, this Jew of the week is a fellow New Yorker.

Follow Rabbi Eisenstadt here and her shih-poo, Scout, here.

Can’t wait to see the show when it comes out! Mazel Tov!

Also, if you're in need of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah card, I offer them, and can personalize them.
