In July, the owner of Standup NY, a comedy club on the Upper West Side asked me to draw the headliners for the Chosen Comedy Festival, an epic Jewish comedy show in Coney Island.
As the lineup expanded, so did my doodling. I got to go to the show with my family and friend Adam Gold — a Jew of the week and comedy producer himself — and meet the subjects of my cartoons. The cohosts, Modi and Elon Gold, ended up on a bottle of Jews and Booze bourbon (it tastes as looks good!) I met both of them, and they were so nice and gracious.
The foundation of my cartooning is in comedy, and I produced a comedy show in April for Passover, so it felt like my worlds were colliding in the best way. And, I got to share this with my family, which made it even more special.
The event was amazing and there were over 4,000 people at the Coney Island Amphitheater. My pictures don't really do the show justice, so here are more and here's a nice recap of the event, which will likely expand around the world! I can't wait! And shoutout to Dani Zoldan who produced this and was lovely to work with.
